Help us keep aviation history and education alive!

We enthusiastically invite you to join us as a volunteer, sponsor, or donor as we build on a successful legacy to create a sustainable future for the Education Center. By supporting the PFEC, you signal your commitment to an engaged next generation and the vitality of our community.

PFEC provides opportunities for individuals, companies, and foundations to get involved through philanthropic support, volunteering, or providing mentorship and support for our students. Here are just a few of the things your time and dollars support:

Open Saturdays

PFEC is open to the public every Saturday from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Guests can try their hand at the vertical wind tunnel, glider building, the flight simulator lab and more!

Custom Programming and Tours

Custom aviation, STEM and history programs are designed and delivered to groups at Pearson Field and in school classrooms around the community. PFEC works to provide adaptive and accessible programming for all young people. Annual College and Career Fairs expose students to exciting future opportunities.

Open Cockpit Day 2

Open Cockpit Day

Open Cockpit Day offers the experience of flight to youth ages 8 to 17. This free event is one of the most popular one-day aviation programs of the summer.

Aviation Summer Camps

Sponsor a student and provide the opportunity for campers to learn about the history of Pearson Field and the basics of aeronautics, which encompasses the four forces of flight, the three axes of flight and Bernoulli’s principle. Students spend time learning to fly using interactive flight simulators and models. The week culminates with the students co-piloting and maneuvering a real airplane!

PFEC has a dedicated group of volunteers who meet weekly and work together to help keep the aviation programs staffed appropriately and available to the community. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please click here and fill out a volunteer application.
