Christmas at Fort Vancouver means holiday fun for all ages!
Christmas at Fort Vancouver is one of the most magical days of the year with activities occurring throughout the site - including the reconstructed Fort Vancouver and the Marshall House on Officers Row. Join us on Saturday, December 13th for this annual event!
Inside Fort Vancouver, experience the sights and sounds of the 1800's holiday season. Christmas at Fort Vancouver demonstrates how the employees at Hudson's Bay Company celebrated the festive time around Christmas and New Year's Day. After months of hard work, it was one of the few times of the year when the employees of the Hudson's Bay Company were off from work and able to celebrate. Enjoy family-friendly holiday crafts such as wreath making, caroling, children's games, holiday music, and blacksmithing and black powder demonstrations at the reconstructed Fort Vancouver. Make sure to stock up on unique holiday gifts at the Visitor Center bookstore at Pearson Air Museum, open 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Regular admission applies to activities inside the Fort.
After marking the occasion as the employees did in the 1840's, enjoy photo opportunities with Santa at the Marshall House. Cider and hot chocolate will be available as well as a letter-writing station where children can write their wish list to Santa. Also, take a tour of the beautifully decorated Victorian house and learn about how General Marshall enjoyed Christmas while living on Officers Row. We hope to see you there!
